Mr. Max Edward Whitehead, 68, of Frederick, died on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Washington Hospital Center. He was the husband of Carol Mohler Whitehead. Born on June 30, 1944 in Feagaville, he was the son of the late Mortimer Whitehead and Mary Catherine Easterday Whitehead. Mr. Whitehead served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1963 to 1969. Overlapping his service in the military, he began a career with the Montgomery County Police in 1966 until his retirement in 1989. He was an assistant coach for fast pitch softball at Damascus High School. He and his wife have been members of Calvary Assembly of God since 2000. Mr. Whitehead enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and gardening. In addition to his wife, Max is survived by children Daniel Whitehead and his wife Ivette of Fayetteville, GA, Jennifer Hillman and her husband John of Smithsburg and Marci Logue and her husband Walt of Fairfield, PA as well as grandchildren Elijah, Emmanuel, Jeremiah, Zechariah, Aliyah, Isaiah, Hannah, Moriah, Zoe, Carla and Christina. He is also survived by siblings Dorothy Clark, Mary Dingus and husband Roy and Janis Butler and husband Keith.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Joyce Crawford and brother-in-law Wayne Clark. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Calvary Assembly of God, 8234 Woodsboro Pike, Walkersville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Assembly of God. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
