Richard Vernon Carlisle, Sr.

Richard Vernon Carlisle, Sr., 69, of Frederick, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at his home. He was the loving husband of Donna Franz Carlisle. Born in Dickerson on July 20, 1943, he was a son of the late James Maurice and Betty Fields Carlisle. Mr. Carlisle owned and operated his own business known as Carlisle Custom Carpentry and Remolding. He was a 100% Disabled Service connected Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the South End Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family of which they shared much love. Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Richard V. Carlisle, Jr., and wife LeeAnn, of Essex and Renee M. Carlisle, of Frederick, one beloved brother, James M. "Bo" Carlisle, Jr., of Dickerson, four grandchildren, Kevin, Desiree, Sarah and Rebekah Carlisle, one great grandson, Michael E. Johnson III, several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by many great friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, July 19, 2013, at the South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrollton Drive, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at the church at 9:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 20, 2103. Rev. J. Kenneth Stalls, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrollton Drive, Frederick, MD 21701. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Online condolences may be shared with the family at keeneybasford.com.
