Teresita Elizabeth (Kunold) Kelly, 94, of Wyngate Drive, Frederick, MD died July 25, 2013 at home surrounded by her daughters. She was the mother of 10 children and the matriarch of a large and growing family. In her lifetime as wife, mother, and homemaker she established 5 homes passing onto her children the flair and talent for creating comfortable, lovely and functional living spaces. Teresita loved china and would purchase a complete set of dinnerware when she tired of her current pattern. Teresita also passed on her interest in cooking and the importance of a daily meal together with the family. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Joseph Kelly on April 30, 1995 and her daughter Katherine "Katie" Finley on December 26, 2012. Born August 5, 1918 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Ellen T. (Driscoll) Kunold. Before meeting her husband Harry, Teresita worked in her father's grocery store, the Elwood Market on Georgia Ave in the District. She met Harry while working in Hechts Department Store located at 7th & F Streets also in the District. Once married her life's work was to raise her family. She was an active member of St. Joseph-on- Carrolton Manor Catholic Church and worked on many church projects, dinners and events. She is survived by 9 children, Mary A. Kelly of Silver Spring, Gregory M. Kelly of Buckeyestown, Margaret M. Kelly, Paula M. Kelly, Mark A. and Suzi Kelly, Anthony J. Kelly and Teresita M. and Gene Lemar all of Frederick, MD, Kevin M and Mary Kelly and Agnes M. and Mark Heller of Middletown. Teresita is survived by 12 grandchildren, Jeremiah Kelly, Angela Herrin, Timothy Kelly, Amanda Kelly, Molly Kelly, Brenton Heller, Ellen Heller, Adam Kelly, Megan Kelly, Patrick Kelly, Garret Finley, Joseph Finley, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Teresita is also survived by son-in-law Clyde Finley of Frederick, Maryland and John and Mary O'Malley and family of Silver Spring. Family will receive friends at the Keeney Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD Sunday, July 28 from 2-4 and 6-8. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Josephs -on- Carrolton Manor on Monday, July 29 at 10 AM in Buckeyestown, Maryland. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
