Helen Lorraine Keefer

September 23, 1921 — July 27, 2013

Mrs. Helen Lorraine Kuhn Keefer, 91, of Monocacy Village, Frederick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27 at the Northampton Manor Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Richard "Dick" Whitter Keefer, who passed away September 1, 2011. Born September 23, 1921, at Garfield, MD, she was a daughter of the late Edgar M. and Myrtle Kendall Kuhn. She graduated from Walkersville High School, Class of 1940 and later became a nurse at Victor Cullen Nursing School, Sabillasville. She was a longtime member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frederick. Helen loved life and will be remembered by many friends and neighbors, especially Pat and Hubert Harp. She is survived by one son, Terry Lee Keefer and wife Jennifer, of Frederick, one half-sister, Olive Kuhn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray L. Kuhn and Robert Kuhn; and a half-sister, Mildred Lewis. The family will receive friends from 10am until time of services at 11am on Thursday, August 1 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E Church Street, Frederick. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
