Mr. Robert Bolt Day, II age 92 of Frederick, died on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marie E. D. Day who passed away in 1970 and Lenor L. Day who passed away in 2005. Born on May 5, 1921, in Pendleton, South Carolina the son of the late Robert E. and Johnney R. (Evatt) Day. Mr. Day was named after his paternal grandfather, Dr. Robert Bolt Day. He graduated from North Fulton High School in Atlanta, Georgia. He continued his education and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson Agricultural College, now Clemson University. He then served his country as a member of the Army-Air Force. He served in the signal corps in Italy and Iran. Following his military service, Mr. Day was employed by General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky and Chicago, Illinois. He retired in the mid 1980's, and enjoyed sailing on Lake Michigan. He was known in later years as a tireless walker. Survivors include his daughter, Olivia Kate Day of Frederick, his granddaughters Day Mariedith Barth and husband Jeff and Amanda Katharine Little and husband Phil, and his great-grandchildren Elaine, Grace and Samuel. He is additionally survived by cousins in South Carolina and many friends in Illinois. All Services will be private. Contributions may be made in Mr. Day's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 108 Byte Drive, Suite 103, Frederick, MD 21702.
