Elliott Ashley "Slim" Soule, 90, of Frederick, died on August 19, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Bernice Minnick Soule, whom he married November 28, 1987. Born on October 19, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Soule was the son of the late Samuel Elliott Soule and Minnie Louise Duerman Soule. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a graduate of Princeton High School and a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University as well as Bluefield College in West Virginia. He also had attended George Washington University. Mr. Soule had been employed with Bell Telephone Company, Farm Bureau Insurance Company and Nationwide Insurance Company. He retired from Geico Insurance Company as a Senior Claims Manager in 1977. Elliott was employed part time for Mutual Inspection Bureau and Frederick Mutual Insurance Company of Frederick Maryland. Elliott served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945 in Germany, France and England. He loved nature and wildlife. Mr. Soule loved traveling and took 21 cruises. He enjoyed the Nationals and Orioles and also the Redskins and Ravens. Elliott had a love for watching Soccer, especially English Premier League. He was a member of Forest Grove United Methodist Church and was presently attending Frederick Baptist Church until his health kept him at home. Mr. Soule was a life member of the VFW, a former member of the Lions Club, Elks Club, Catoctin Club, Prime Time Club and AARP and was a volunteer driver for the American Red Cross. Surviving besides his loving wife and caretaker Bernice Soule is a sister-in-law Ruth Waters of Frederick and many nephews, their spouses and a niece and spouse. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lee McKimmey Soule in 1983. Mr. Soule's family would like to offer special thanks to Stephanie Boyer, Terri Krone, Theresa Shenek, Dr. Casper Cline, Dr. Michael Levangie, Dr. David Levine, Dr. Randie McLaughlin and Hospice of Frederick County. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 22 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Frederick Baptist Church, 5305 Mount Zion Road, Frederick, Maryland 21703, with his pastor, John Seay officiating. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at Frederick Baptist Church. Interment will be in Locust Valley Cemetery, Burkittsville.
