Mr. Ivan Hensley, 75, of Frederick, formerly of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, August 31, 2013. Born October 10, 1937, in Isom, KY, he was the only son of Flossie Hensley. Ivan was a mechanic by trade and a fisherman at heart. A loving husband, companion, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Karen S. Hensley. Mr. Hensley is survived by his daughter, Lisa Marie Moore and husband DJ of Jefferson, son, John Hensley and wife Kimberly of Martinsburg, WV, grandchildren, Jessica Droneburg, Alex Moore, Danielle Moore, Tara Clark, Mia Fauble, Jessica Hensley and DJ Droneburg and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Katelyn, Ryan and Matt. He will be remembered by his loving companion, Karen Kerens of Frederick and her family. Also, his life long friend and sister-in-law, Jeanne McCarthy, and many loving friends. The family will receive friends from 10am to 11am, on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4231 Catholic Church Road, Knoxville, MD 21758. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Father George Limmer will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
