Ms. Wilma Jean Blackburn, 64, of Frederick Maryland passed away early Sunday morning, September 1, 2013 in Frederick. Born February 21, 1949 in Frederick MD, she was the daughter of the late William E. Mathews and Alice Virginia Mathews. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend. Wilma loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed watching the Redskins, visiting the beach, building puzzles and playing slots at Charlestown Races. She is survived by her loving children, Scott Blackburn and wife Sarah and Phil Blackburn and wife Jennifer; her two brothers, William E. Mathews and fiancé Eva Tax and Wade Mathews and wife Vicki; two sisters, Patricia Mathews-Guise, Cindy Osbon and husband Tom; six grandchildren Emma, Christian and Jackson Blackburn, Ian, Oliver and Hamilton; four nephews, Brandon Mathews, Chad Romsburg, Doug Rice and Cody Romsburg; and three nieces, Elizabeth Mathews, Brandi Mathews, Elocin Rice. She will be missed by all of her friends and her best friend Wanda. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by daughter Jennifer Lynn Blackburn. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm & 6-8pm, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be at 11:00AM, on Thursday, September 5, 2013, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Interment will held privately at Mount Olivet Cemetery on a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Wilma's name to Hospice of Frederick County, PO Box 1799, Frederick, Maryland 21702.
