Russell Leroy Morgan

Mr. Russell Leroy Morgan, 68, of Frederick, died on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, in Baltimore. Born in Frederick on December 7, 1944, he was a son of the late Russell Ira and Lillie Summers Morgan. Russell was retired as a supervisor for the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Frederick, He was a member of the Redmen Club, Eagles, Amvets and the American Legion, all of Frederick and the Moose Lodge in Brunswick. Surviving are his children; Rusty Morgan, Bryan Morgan and Shelby Morgan, one brother, Ira Wayne Morgan, one sister, Mary L. Riggs, grandson, Braiden Carter Morgan, and many nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by his special friend, Carol A. Albright. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia "Sally" Angleberger, brother, Robert Reed and step-son Larry Staub. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, September 9, 2013, at the funeral home. The Rev. Tim May, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Union Chapel Cemetery, Frederick.
