Mrs. Ellen LaMonica, age 89 of Walkersville, formerly from Long Island, NY, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Saint Catherine's Nursing Facility, in Emmitsburg, MD. She was the wife of the late Vincent E. LaMonica, Sr. Born on April 2, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late late James and Sarah Malone. Mrs. LaMonica was the loving mother of: Eileen Garfen, Kathy LaMonica, Vincent LaMonica and wife Sally, Jean Griffiths and husband Dwain and Theresa Tokarz and husband Thomas. She is additionally survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, 2013 beginning at 11 AM at St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Rd., Walkersville, MD 21793. Monsignor Richard Murphy will officiate. The interment will be private in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY. Arrangements by the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
