Robert "Bob" Eugene Clark, 68 of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 with his family by his side. He was the husband of 47 years to Connie Clark. Bob was the President of Key Sanitation. Born June 8, 1945, in Frederick, he was the son of Dorthea M. (Haugh) Clark and the late William E. Clark Jr. He was in the first graduating class of 1963 from Linganore High School. Bob served in the United States 698th Army Reserve as a Sargent First Class, retiring after 20 years of service. Bob worked in the banking industry for more than 25 years. He was a 45 year member of the New Market Lions Club, serving as Past President and received the organizations highest award, the Melvin Jones award. He served on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee and various committees through the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. Bob also spent his time volunteering with the Big Brothers & Big Sisters and serving on committees with the United Way of Frederick. He enjoyed playing baseball in the New Market Maryland State league and enjoyed both fast and slow pitch softball. In his free time he enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. Bob was known most for his ability to always bring a smile to everyone's face and his ability to light up the room. In addition to his wife and mother, Bob is survived by his brother Gary Wm. Clark Sr. and his wife Lynn of Hagerstown, MD; his niece Chrissy Leatherman and nephew Gary Wm. Clark Jr; and numerous cousins. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8PM on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 28 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery, Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
