Mrs. Helen Herbert "Bobbie" Bruchey, 94, of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013. Born June 15, 1919 in Catoctin Furnace, she was the daughter of the late James H. Fraley and Mildred N. Shook. A long time resident of East Eighth Street and later, Crestwood Village, Mrs. Bruchey had been a resident at Homewood at Crumland Farms since 2005. A homemaker and mother first and foremost, she had retired after twenty years as bookkeeper from the Medical Arts Pharmacy and she was proud to be the longest member of the congregation of Trinity United Methodist Church, Frederick, having been a member for more than 80 years. Helen loved to travel and would be happy to spend time telling you of her many cross country trips and all of the states she had visited. Helen was the wife of the late Bruce A. Bruchey, Sr. and is survived by her daughter, Sandra Carlson Lombard, of Frederick, son, Bruce A. Bruchey, Jr. and daughter-in-law Judith M. Bruchey of Arnold, Maryland, brother and sister-in-law, Julian (Skip) and Barbara Shafer of Walkersville, and sister-in-law, Esther Carbaugh Keyser of Frederick. She is also survived by the four joys of her life, her grandchildren, Kelly M. Carlson, of Frederick, Bruce A. (Trey) Bruchey III, Ryan D. Bruchey and Christena A. Bruchey, all of Arnold. She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many close friends. Helen was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Carbaugh and Warren Shafer, two sons-in-law, A. David Carlson and Edward Lombard, and her special friend, Frank Baumgardner. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the funeral home. Rev. Lynn Wilson, will officate. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
