Joseph William Stillions

Mr. Joseph William "Joe" Stillions, 63, of Frederick, died on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Carol L. Ernest Stillions. Born in Frederick, on February 28, 1950, he was the son of the late Harry R., Sr., and Ida Simmons Stillions. Joe proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Marines. For many years he worked for William Rickman Construction as a bricklayer. Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter, Jenny R. Floyd and husband Josh, of Frederick, three brothers, Harry R. Stillions, Jr., of Sykesville, Thomas M. Stillions and wife Kim and John H. Stillions, all of Hagerstown, one sister, Ina Mayne and husband Ralph, of Mt. Airy, one granddaughter, Alison E. Floyd and many nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by special aunts, Vivian Poole , of Ijamsville and Cynthia Ferrell, of Brunswick. He was preceded in death by his son, William Christopher Stillions, who died May 22, 1996. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, October 7, 2013, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Frederick County, P. O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
