James William Stockman, Jr.

Mr. James William "Jim" Stockman, 65, of Mt. Airy, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013. He was the husband of Linda (Jenkins) Stockman for 44 years. Born on October 28, 1947, in Frederick, he was the son of the late James and Teresa (Griffith) Stockman, Sr. Jim graduated from Linganore High School Class of 1965. He worked as a financial analyst at Lockheed Martin until his retirement in May. Mr. Stockman was the last founding member of the Libertytown Rec Council and was very active with Frederick County Girls Softball and Northeast Baseball as a coach and organizer for many years. He was an avid fan of drag racing, and enjoyed all types of sporting events. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Tom Stockman and wife Mary, daughter Penni Bauerschmidt and husband Brian, and granddaughters Alison Stockman, Bailee Bauerschmidt and Zoe Bauerschmidt, along with numerous nieces, nephews and former female athletes. Jim's legacy as a father, grandfather, coach, colleague, mentor, and friend will continue in the lives of the many people that he influenced. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6pm, on Sunday, October 20, 2013, at the Keeney & Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, October 21, 2013, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel, at the funeral home. Pastor Chris Litton will officiate. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be in made in Jim's memory to New Windsor State Bank, Mount Airy c/o Tom Stockman.
