Mr. Arnold Carl "Andy" Germeroth, 80 of Lewistown, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Country Meadows of Frederick. He was the husband of Linda McCoy Germeroth, his wife of 49 years. Born October 8, 1933 in Hoxie, Kansas, he was the son of the late Adam and Louise Theye Germeroth. He was educated in parochial and public schools of Sheridan County, Kansas. As a young man, he served a machinist apprenticeship at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. He was employed for many years at the electro-physics lab of ACF Industries in Hyattsville, Maryland. Later he was co-owner and vice president of H. and A. Precision Company of Rockville. From 1971 until his retirement he had a sole proprietorship business, operating as Arnold Research. Mr. Germeroth served his country in the United States Army, 11th Airborne Division. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Arlinda Germeroth Sothoron and her husband Jeffrey; three granddaughters, Olivia Grace Sothoron, Leah McCoy Sothoron, and Tara Noelle Sothoron; two sisters, Myrtle Kropp of Colby of Kansas, and Alice Mizer of Jennings of Kansas; and one brother, Edwin Germeroth and wife Myrtle of Hanover, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Germeroth was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur and Raymond who were killed during WWII, Clarence and Emil Germeroth and two sisters, Lillian and Mabel Berndt. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. A memorial service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, 8798 Adventure Ave., Walkersville, MD. Interment will be private in Utica Cemetery.
