William Ray Rohland, age 65, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday November 24, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 10, 1948 in Washington D.C. to Henry and Beverly Rohland. Upon getting his associates degree from college, Bill enlisted in the Coast Guard and served honorably for 4 years. While in the Coast guard, Bill was also a volunteer fire fighter. After his military service, he joined the Secret Service as a communications specialist. While in the Secret Service, Bill met his loving wife Ann Marie and was married for 36 years. Bill then completed 42 years of government service at Walter Reed Army Hospital at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Bill had a passion for nature and animals and loved his time in the Coast Guard and as a fire fighter. He was a devoted father and never missed any school functions or sporting events. Bill is survived by his adoring wife, Ann Marie and three daughters, Mary Ann Rohland, Maria Green and husband Terry, and Catherine Oakes and husband Gerrit, and two grandsons Maximus and William Oakes. He is survived by his father Henry Rohland of Williamsport Maryland, and his sister JoAnn Hobbs and husband Richard of Gettysburg Pennsylvania. Friends and family will be welcomed on Friday November 29, 2013 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. to pay respects and a small religious ceremony will be held at 4:00pm.
