Richard James Williams

December 6, 1923 — November 27, 2013

Mr. Richard "Dick" James Williams, Sr. age 89, formerly of Edison, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013. He was the husband for 63 years of Merle Colton Williams. Mr. Williams was a graduate of New Brunswick High School. He served in the United States Marines during World War II, stationed in London, England. Following his time in the military, Mr. Williams worked in law enforcement, retiring as a caption for the Edison Township Police Department. Mr. Williams is survived by his son, Richard "Rick" James Williams, Jr. and wife Susan of Mt. Airy, MD, two grandsons, Brian Williams and wife Angela of Mt. Airy, MD and Robert Williams and wife Sarah of Walkersville, MD, and four great-grandchildren, Chase, Vaughn, Jacob, and Elizabeth. Friends will be received on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701 and on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 7 to 9 PM at the Boylan Funeral Home - Edison, 10 Wooding Ave., Edision, NJ 08817 were services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 10 AM. The interment will follow at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick, NJ. Arrangements by both the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, Frederick & Boylan Funeral Home, Edison.
