Elizabeth Vivian Merchant, 85, of Frederick, Maryland and formerly of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born July 4, 1928, in Tacoma Park, MD, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Vivian E. (Weaver) Merchant. Elizabeth enjoyed reading, playing cards and building puzzles. She is predeceased by her sister, Shirley (Merchant) Blackwell and her nephew, Buddy Merchant, and is survived by her brother, William Merchant (Geraldine); nieces, Patricia Ferguson (John), Sharon Elliott, Linda Wenkel (Mike); nephews, Johnny Blackwell (Vicki) and Richard Blackwell (Melina), and a host of grand nieces and grand nephews, and four great grand nephews and two great grand nieces. Elizabeth's interment will take place privately at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Maryland. Arrangements are by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, Frederick, Maryland.
