James Edward Shepherd

Mr. James Edward Shepherd. 69, of Thurmont, died on Friday, December 6, 2013, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on March 24, 1944, he was a son of the late John B. and Ruth Reagan Shepherd. He served his country in the United States Navy and worked as an automobile technician and also in the auto parts business. His passion was woodworking, especially building furniture. Jim is survived by his siblings, Pauline Porter, of DE, Marie Butler, of Damascus, Michael Shepherd, of NC and Anne Bonn, of Frederick, also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Shepherd. Jim's wishes were for a private service and his family is honoring his wish. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place,Memphis, TN 38105.
