Mr. David A. Fogle, 66, of Frederick, died on Monday, December 9, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Susan M. Dame Fogle, who died in 1999. They were married in 1970. Born September 21, 1947, in Frederick, he was a son of the late Austin M. "Sugar" Fogle and Martha Jane Culler Fogle. Dave was a 1965 graduate of Frederick High School and from the West Virginia University in 1970. He was employed for nearly 30 years with Fredericktown Bank and had graduated from the School of Bank Marketing, Boulder, CO in 1976 and the Maryland Banking School in 1990. He retired as Assistant Treasurer in 2001. More recently, he was employed by Frederick Community College in Dining Services. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher, was a member and officer of the Church Men's Club as well as serving on the Church Council. Mr. Fogle was a strong supporter of high school and youth athletics. He was a long time coach of the Lions baseball team of the Frederick National Little League; coached in the Frederick Babe Ruth League and enjoyed many years of coaching the F.S.K. Post 11, American Legion baseball team. He started coaching in 1982. He was also a supporter of the Frederick Community College baseball program and Governor Thomas Johnson High School athletics, where he served on the Sports Boosters Board of Directors for several years. Active in the community, he was also a longtime member of the Lions Club of Frederick; Sons of the American Legion; and the Frederick County Fish and Game Protective Association at Camp Kanawha. He also served for many years on the Board of Directors of Frederick National Little League and for over 20 years as a member of the Frederick County YMCA Alvin G. Quinn Sports Hall of Fame committee. Surviving are one son, Mark A. Fogle, of Frederick; sister-in-law, Neeta D. Falconer and husband, Lucien, of Frederick; and a number of nephews, aunts and cousins. He will especially be missed by a cousin, Jean L. Munshour, of Frederick. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 6 to 9pm on Friday, December 13 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 14 from the funeral home with Pastor Robert Driver-Bishop, officiating. Inurnment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
