Mrs. Juanita Belle Linger, 91, formerly of Carroll Parkway, Frederick, and more recently a resident of Norhampton Manor, passed in her sleep on Wednesday, January 8 with her only daughter by her side. Mother and daughter shared the same October birthday. Born near Buckhannon, WV on October 6, 1922, she was the third daughter of William Brown and Lucretia Curry Sayre. The last member of her family of birth, she was predeceased by two sisters and a younger brother. She shared a very close lifetime relationship with them all. She graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School. Mrs. Linger raised her family at Calvary United Methodist Church beginning in 1964. She served there as a teacher assistant for many years in the pre-school program. She was a member of Elm Street School PTA and worked for 13 years at the National Guard Armory on election days. She enjoyed employment over the years with Thompson's Pharmacy, Western Union and the Court House, all in Buckhannon; the Court House in Charlotte, NC and family business Track and Wheels in Frederick as well as Frederick School Supply. She is survived by three sons, Ernest B. Linger and family of Charlotte, NC, Ronald C. Linger and family of Frederick, Frederick S. Linger and family of Lexington, OH, one daugher, Mary L. Posey and family of Myersville, MD and the family of her predeceased oldest son, Stephen W. Linger, who passed in 2005. Her husband of 54 years, Stephen E. Linger, passed in 1999. They were married in 1945 in Graceham, MD where they operated a feed store for several years. Mrs. Linger leaves a wealth of family in 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She lost one grandson, Potter Linger in 1992. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12 from 7-9 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home on Monday, January 13 at 10:00 AM, Rev. Sarah Schlieckert, associate pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow the service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
