William Meredith Renn

July 20, 1925 — January 15, 2014

William Meredith Renn, 88 of Jefferson, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of 63 years to Doris (Hine) Renn. Born July 20, 1925 near Adamstown, Maryland he was the son of the late Meredith E. and Helen C. Renn. William was a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Reformed Church in Adamstown. He worked for 20 years as a school bus driver for the Frederick County Public School system after retiring from farming. In addition to his wife Doris, William is survived by his daughter Dawn J. Shankle; his sister Betty Thomas and husband Raymond; Aunt Ardella Whitter and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceeded in death by his brother Robert Renn and son-in-law Garry Shankle. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Please meet at the Francis Scott Key Chapel. Reverend David Hughes will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Adamstown Community Church, formerly Trinity Evangelical Reformed Church, PO Box 184, Adamstown, Maryland 21710. Arrangements are by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home.
