Mrs. Linda Jean (Blank) Harshman, 66, of Mt. Airy, died Friday, January 31, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Ronald Harshman for 48 years. Born January 3, 1948, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Ralph Blank, Sr. and the late Evelyn (Morgan) Blank. Mrs. Harshman was a member of New Market Fire Co., Red Hats and a supporter of the Fred. Co. 4-H Beef, Sheep and Swine Club. She was a Deacon and Chairman of Music and Worship at the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren. She loved crafts, to cook and to garden in her barefeet. Most importanly, she enjoyed to spend time with her family at numerous gatherings. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Christie Harshman of Sharpsburg, Kimberly Harshman of Mt. Airy and Gaylen Harshman and wife Melanie of Walkersville, special friends, Julie Thompson and husband Jeremy and son Zachary of Jefferson, brother, Ralph Blank, Jr. of Keedysville, sister, Karen Wantz and husband John of Westminster, grandchildren, Dylan Harshman and Sara Harshman, step-grandson, Nolan Gross, brother-in-laws, H. David Harshman and wife Pat, Gareth Harshman and wife Anna and Charles Harshman and wife Joann, sister-in-law, Melissa Burke and husband Terry, special friend, Pat Main, pets, Toby and Sophie, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Blank. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, on Monday, February 3, 2014, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Road, Monrovia, MD 21770, with a visitation prior from 10-11am. Rev. Charles Beekley and Rev. Wilkie Nunn will officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
