Mrs. Lynnda Lee (Whitlock) Johnson, 71, of Jefferson, died Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Oscar D. Johnson, Jr. Born February 5, 1942, in Phillipi, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Jennettia (Langley) Whitlock, Sr. Mrs. Johnson was a social worker for Frederick County working with adoption placement. She was a field enumerator and area supervisor for the Maryland Agricultural Statistics Services. She was most recently a mortgage insurance and tax specialist for Prudential Home Mortgage and later retired from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Lynnda graduated from Washington College, Chestertown, Maryland, in 1963. She was active with the Valley Elementary School PTA, Girl Scouts, the Brunswick High School Band Boosters, the International Order of Job's Daughters Bethel #28 of Frederick, and a long time patient at the Davita Dialysis Center in Frederick. She is survived by her brother, John C. Whitlock, Jr. of Grand Junction, CO, her daughter, Kristen Koster and husband Raphael of San Diego, CA, her grandchildren, Elena Koster and David Koster and close friends, William and Sharon Barr of Jefferson, MD. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Rev. Dave Albertson will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
