David Earl Hahn, 67, of Frederick, MD, died on Friday, March 14, 2014. Born May 9, 1946, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Roy Diller Hahn and Catherine Freda (Lantz) Hahn. Dave was a graduate of Frederick High School and was employed for many years by the Frederick County Public Schools as a school custodian, spending time at Parkway Elementary, Middletown Elementary, and Mt. Airy Elementary schools. After retiring from FCPS in 2010, he worked for the City of Frederick in the Parking Deck Maintenance Department. He also worked many years for Eyler Vending Co. Dave was an active member of the BPO Elks Lodge #684 and the Owls Club of Frederick. He had many friends and was loved by all who knew him. Surviving are his brother, Austin R. Hahn (wife Betty) of Charles Town, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Helen G. Hahn of Frederick; nieces Marcia L. Hahn of Frederick, Pamela (DeeDee) Huffman (husband David) of New Jersey, and Catherine (Kitty) Hahn, of Charles Town, West Virginia; and nephew Robert D. Hahn (wife Michele) of Walkersville. Also surviving are great nieces, Chelsea and Ariel Huffman of New Jersey, and great nephews, Ryan D. Hahn of Walkersville, and Rusty Huffman of New Jersey. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother, Roland D. Hahn, and his great niece, Heather M. Hahn. The family is grateful to the staff at College View Center for the loving care given him during his recent stay there. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church St., Frederick, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
