Mr. Clyde David Main, age 86 of Frederick, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Northampton Manor. He was the husband of the late Frances Julia (Summers) Main who passed away in 1976. He is survived by his current wife Janet R. Main of Frederick. Born on June 18, 1927 in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Clyde and Virgie Main. Mr. Main was a life long member at the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren in Monrovia. He served the church as a caretaker of the cemetery, trustee, deacon, general manager and was a money clerk. He was always available and willing to offer dedicated help. Mr. Main worked for the Ox Fiber Brush Company, Bohrer Motors in Ridgeville and for North American Housing. In his retirement he continued working, helping his many neighbors and his church. He spent many hours working on his friend's cars. Mr. Main was the father of Juanita Thompson and husband Paul of Bowie, Kay Oliver and husband Terry of Frederick, Mark Main and wife Jenni of Middletown, and Julie Main and fiancé Hal McElroy of Frederick; the stepfather of Pam Barnes of Woodsboro; the grandfather of 11 and the great-grandfather of 3. His is also survived by his siblings Bobby Main and his wife Dorcus, Sam Main, and Darline Frye. Mr. Main is preceded in death by his children, David "Reds" Main, Chris Main, and Ramona Trout and a brother Ellis Main. Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 9 PM at the Keeney and Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick and on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 10 to 11 AM at the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821-A Green Valley Rd, Monrovia, MD 21770 where services will begin at 11 AM. Rev. Charles G. Beekley will officiate. The interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery (adjacent to the church).
