Dorothy Kemp Harris, 86 of Frederick, Maryland peacefully entered eternal rest after suffering many years of illnesses on Saturday, April 5, 2014. She was the wife of the late George William Harris. Born July 14, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Eleanor (Hildebrand) Kemp. In her younger years, Dorothy enjoyed working in her flower garden, making meals for the family, singing with her siblings and playing in her bowling leagues. Dorothy was employed at the hosiery factory before her 27 year career at A&P, where she retired as a cashier. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Debra Lynne Oranczak and husband Jeffrey; two grandchildren, Jeremy Oranczak and wife Shannon, and Kelly Peterson; three great-grandchildren Madison Oranczak, Bella and Dylan Peterson; two brothers Paul and Ralph Kemp; three sisters, Evelyn Korrell, Anna Mae Stout and Ruby Barklow; step-daughter in law, Sheila Harris; step-grandson, Rich Harris; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one infant daughter, Cynthia Harris; Step-son George W. Harris Jr.; brother, Sonny Kemp; sisters, Jeanette Phelps, Virginia Musacchio, and Ruth Zentz. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 2pm at the Edgewood Church of God, 8206 Edgewood Church Road, Frederick. Pastor Arnold Cooper, assisted by Reverend Paul Kemp will officiate. Interment will be held on Monday, April 14, at 2pm at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
