Mr. Larry Roland Staley, 70, of Frederick, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Lorrie Staley. Born in Frederick on May 9, 1943, he was the son of the late Roalnd and Nola Fogle Staley. Larry was retired as ameat cutter and had worked for Carmack-Jays and Weis Markets. After his retirement he had worked several years with Sugarloaf Mountain Works, Inc. He was a member of the Owls Club and the Frederick Elks Lodge. Larry loved to play golf and travel especially to Hawaii. Surviving are his children, Laurie Newman, Brett, Christopher, Erin and Megan Staley, and step children, Keith and Joy Shaw, his sister, Vicki S. Foster and husband Jeff, nephew, Nathan Foster and wife Annie, and several grandchildren, two aunts, Shirley Winters and husband Carlton and Jean Johnson and husband Vernon. He will also be remembered by two special friends, Jim Grove and Stoney. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, April 18, 2014, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, April 19, 2014, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Deacon Debbie Williams, will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
