Walter Kenneth Keeney

Mr. Walter Kenneth Keeney, 87, of Walkersville, died on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Annie Summers Keeney, who died in 2008. Born in Frederick on November 23, 1926, he was the son of the late Teney Mae Keeney and George Reynolds. Mr. Keeney was retired after 42 years with the Routzahn's Furniture Store, where he worked as the warehouse manager and a refinisher. Surviving are his children, William K. "Billy" Keeney and wife Rebecca, of Point of Rocks and Donna Lynn Hoover, of Frederick, granddaughter, Aimee Keeney Fisher and husband Brad and their son, Maddox Fisher. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Herbert Franklin Hoover. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., from the graveside in Clustered Spires Cemetery, Frederick. Hubert Brown, will officiate. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Emmanuel Trinity Lutheran Church, 4004 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, M 21703.
