Mrs. Marjorie Genevieve (Spratt) McClain, 89, of Adamstown, died Friday, April 18, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward M. McClain, Jr., who preceded her in death on December 4, 1994. Born December 29, 1924, in Jamaica, New York, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Genevieve (Murphy) Spratt, Sr. She lived most of her life in the Damascus, Maryland area and then moved to Buckinghams choice, Adamstown Maryland, in 1999. She retired after 37 years of service with the US Atomic Energy Commission (DOE). Mrs. McClain is survived by her daughter, Janet Low and husband Mike, son, Edward McClain III and wife Deborah, grandchildren, Andrew Low and wife Elizabeth, Scott Low and fiancé Courtney Horan, Anna Marie McClain, Victoria McClain and Edward McClain IV. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 25100 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD 20872. Father Lee Davis will officiate. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne's Episcopal Church, at the above address. Arrangements are being made by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E.
