Sally Ruth McClain, 54, of New Market, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2014, at her home after a 2 year long battle with cancer. Born September 24, 1959, she was the loving and caring daughter of Bernard and Virginia "Tottles" McClain of New Market. She leaves behind a brother, Ronnie McClain, sister, Nancy Thompson Imirie and husband Allan, nephew, Russ Thompson and his son, Tristan, nephew, Travis Thompson and wife Melissa and their daughter, Hailey, and two lifelong devoted friends Ruth Easterday, with whom she worked at Safeway in Frederick for 25 years, and Lucy Inskeep. Also, two special aunts, Peg Hargett and Grace Garver, and special friends, the Hoy family. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Linda and Wanda; Dr. Goldstein and his nurse, Mary, and the entire wonderful, compassionate staff at the Frederick Cancer Center. The funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701. Chaplain Gary White of New Market will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
