Marshall Palmer

Marshall Palmer, 98, of Frederick, MD, passed away Monday, April 29, 2014, at Northampton Manor Care. He was born May 7, 1915 in Coudersport, PA and was the son of the late Drayton L. Palmer and Cleo A. Rice. He was the husband of the late Veola Mae Trussel, who passed away February 12, 2010. Sergeant Palmer began his Army career in 1941, he served four tours overseas, twice in Germany, once in Japan and Korea. He received many awards, certificates and accomplishments during his twenty years of service. While in Germany, he helped set up Orphanages, for the German children which he was quite proud. He was truly Army and very proud to serve his Country. Mr. Palmer is survived by one grandson, Jon Paul LeBourhis of VA, one niece, Janice Mahon and husband George of Couldersport, PA, stepdaughter and care giver, Dorothy Ahalt and husband Norman, stepson, Thomas Havenner and fiancé, Ellie Tysdal of CA, many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine Adel Fitzgerald, one daughter Lorraine (Lori) May LeBourhis, her husband Maurice Gene Patrick LeBourhis and granddaughter Michelle Marie LeBourhis and one brother, Charles Palmer. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm, on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will follow at 2:00PM, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Paul Stull Jr., friend of the family will officiate. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
