Mr. Orville Alfred Yingling, 83, of Frederick, MD died July 3, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born in Union Bridge, MD on May 30, 1931. He was the son of the late John Yingling and Gladys Millen of Union Bridge. Mr. Yingling graduated in 1948 from Frederick High School. He went on to serve in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Petty Officer 1st Class. After the service, he was an Armed Guard at Pinkerton and was a US Special Police Officer. He later worked for the US Government General Services Administration as a Communication Technician retiring after 32 years of service. After retiring from the Federal Government, he worked for Frederick County Government as a bus driver and utility driver and retired after 19 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post #11 and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and was a former member of the Korean War Veteran's Association. He enjoyed vacationing at the beach and visits from his great-grandchildren. Mr. Yingling is survived by two sons, John Yingling, Sr. (Steve) and wife Jeanie of Knoxville, MD and Jody Yingling and wife Barbara of Thurmont, MD; three grandchildren, John Yingling, Jr and wife Jessica, Julie Mowdy and husband Chris, and April Yingling all of Frederick, MD; six great-grandchildren, Austin and Gabriella Mowdy, Kathryn, Alexis, and Carlee Yingling, and Amari Yingling all of Frederick, MD; two sisters, Kathleen Burkett and Corine Zimmerman both of Frederick, MD; ex-wife and friend, Nancy Yingling of Frederick, MD. He will be remembered by special caregiver Debbie Hurley. He was preceded in death by two brother in laws Floyd Burkett and Kenneth Zimmerman. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 2pm-5pm at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD. The funeral serivce will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 2pm at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home. Lt. Mike Michels will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army, 223 West 5th Street, Frederick, MD 21701.
