Lena Mae Brown

February 23, 1918 — July 4, 2014

Mrs. Lena Mae Brown, 96 of Frederick, Maryland went home to the Angels on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Northampton Manor. She was the devoted wife of the late Howard G. Brown who died in 1973. Born on February 23, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna (Hartsock) Coyle. Lena was the last of her immediate family. Mrs. Brown worked for several establishments in Frederick over the years, retiring from Brown's Discount Liquors after 24 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three sons, Martin (Debbie) Brown, David Brown, all of Frederick, James (Karla) Brown of Walkersville; one daughter, Melody (Charles) Tasco of Frederick; nine grandsons and two granddaughters and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 6-8 pm at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, July 9 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 9411 Baltimore Road, Frederick, Maryland 21704.
