William James Mcclafferty, Iii

Mr. William James "Jim" McClafferty, III age 67 passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Born on May 2, 1947 in Baltimore he was the son of the late William James II and Beatrice McClafferty. Mr. McClafferty was a 1965 graduate of Loyola High School in Towson and a 1969 graduate of the University of Maryland. Following college, he worked for Metpath Laboratories in Rockville as a logistics manager and then later for the Department of Energy in Germantown as a computer systems analyst. In his free time he enjoyed golf and grilling. Mr. McClafferty is survived by his children, Jimmy McClafferty of Frederick, Kathryn McClafferty and fiancé Travis Roahrig of Frederick, Michelle McClafferty of Boston, MA, and Mark McClafferty of Owings Mills and their mother Barbara McClafferty, his wife for 25 years. He is also survived by his siblings, Judy Messenheimer, Michael McClafferty and Robert McClafferty. A memorial service will be held at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick on Sunday, September 7 2014 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. McClafferty's name to Fraternal Order of Police - Maryland Lodge, 1506 Leslie Rd, Baltimore, MD 21222.
