Doris Clem Bierley

September 4, 1928 — October 8, 2014

Doris Clem Bierley, 86 of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Ravenwood Nursing Care Center in Hagerstown. She was the wife of 43 years to the late Meredith "Boog" Bierley. Born on September 4, 1928 in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Lenzie Clem DeGrange. Doris worked for the C & P Telephone Company for 35 years until her retirement. She enjoyed ceramics, needlepoint and loved to shop. She enjoyed traveling, taking bus trips and caring for her dogs. She is survived by her sister, Harriet Ann Pryor; nephew, Mark Allan Pryor and wife, Winnie; two nieces, Donna Ann Witmer and husband, Shawn; and Laura Elizabeth Kline and friend, Gary. She is also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland. The funeral service will be held at 2pm in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Reverend Helen Smith of Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church, 8 West Second Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701.
