William Michael Lininger Jr.

February 22, 1940 — October 19, 2014

William Michael Lininger Jr., 74 of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Northampton Manor Health Care. He was the husband of 38 years to the late Catherine Lininger. Born on February 22, 1940 in Frederick, he was the son of the late William Michael Lininger Sr. and Louise Lininger Duvall. He retired from the Frederick County Public Schools, environmental services department, in the early 1980's. William is survived by his step-children, Deborah A. Harne and husband Larry, Charles D. Albright and wife Crystal, Larry W. Albright and wife Leslie and Carroll D. Albright, Jr. and wife Debra; daughter, Michelle M. Ferrell; sisters, Patsy Hoffman, Sharon Huff and husband John, Bonnie Virts and husband Frank and Brenda Brashear and husband Harold; brother, Wayne Lininger and wife Jo-Ann; half-sister, Pamela Weddle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Lorraine and half-sister, Vickie Duvall. Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 6-8pm at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral will be held at 10am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Reverend Tim May will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, Maryland 21702.
