Mrs. Loretta Rita Quirk, 95, of Philadelphia, PA, died Friday, October 24, 2014, at the Record Street Home in Frederick, MD, where she had been a resident since 2007. Her family would like to thank all the members of Loretta's Record Street Home family for the wonderful care that see received. She could not have been treated with more love, caring and kindness. Born October 29, 1918, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Loretta (O'Brien) Prior. She was the wife of the late Eugene F. Quirk, Sr. Loretta is survived by her daughter Kathryn Quirk and husband Richard Cooper, her son Kevin Quirk and wife Catharine, her daughter Denise Quirk, and her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Morin, wife of her late son, Gene. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Victoria Cooper, Abigail Cooper, Kate Quirk, Ian Quirk, and Allyson Quirk. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eugene F. Quirk, Jr. Loretta was a longtime member of St. Christopher parish, the Somerton Women's Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Philadelphia Quartett Club, and Ladies Auxiliary of the St. Katharine Drexel Council of the Knights of Columbus. In her later years, she was a volunteer at the Pearl S. Buck House in Perkasie, PA. Arrangements are being made by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at St. Christopher, Philadelphia, PA, on November 29.
