David Eugene Pearson, 82, of New Market, Maryland, passed away on November 16th at the Frederick Memorial Hospital following complications from pneumonia. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Heckenluber Pearson, formerly of Adams County, Pennsylvania. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-daughter, Jen Shaull of San Francisco, CA and her spouse, Elizabeth Erhardt; step-daughter Judy Riley of New Market, MD and spouse Pete Riley and his three granddaughters: Hannah and Erin, students at Salisbury University, and Jade Riley, a high school student at Governor Thomas Johnson High School. He was so proud and loving of his step-daughters and grandchildren. David is also survived by his brother, Don and wife Joanne from Washington State and many nieces and nephews and cousins from around the United States. David was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Dr. Victor Pearson and Ingabord. Also by his sister, Vicky, from Chicago, Ill and a brother, Keith, from Phoenix, Arizona. He was a graduate of Rock Island High School and Augustana University in Rock Island, Arizona. David was employed by the Lutheran Brotherhood Life Insurance Company retiring in 1999, after working 27 years. He also retired from the Frederick County Tourism Center in 1999 after working as an information specialist for 15 years. As an avid golfer, David was a member of the Hope Valley Senior League and enjoyed many golf courses both in the county and while traveling. He especially enjoyed playing golf with his wife, Joy, and daughter Jen from California. Mr. Pearson's most loved past times were playing golf, traveling and reading and enjoying family life. The light shone a little brighter in Dave's presence and he will be missed by many. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
