Mrs. Erma Louise Stull Grove, 91, of Frederick, died on November 29 at Homewood at Crumland Farms. She was the wife of the late Roy Reuben Grove. Born on September 29, 1923, she was a daughter of the late F. Stanley Stull and Dona Wachter Stull. Erma was a mathematics teacher at Frederick High School for 31 years, until her retirement in 1975. She was a 1944 graduate of Hood College and earned her Masters Degree from Colombia University in 1948. Mrs. Grove was an active member of Faith United Church of Christ in Charlesville and was at one time treasurer of the congregation, a member of the church choir and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Erma was a member of the Frederick County Retired Teachers, Maryland State Retired Teachers and the National Retired Teachers Association. She was also a life member of National Education Association and was a member of both Delta Kappa Society and Hood Club as well as the Catoctin Association and was involved with the Central Atlantic Conference of the United Church of Christ for many years. She was an avid photographer, published poet and also made the British list of "Who's Who". Mrs. Grove is survived by two God-Daughters, Dolly Noffsinger Sullivan and Virginia D'Alessandro Accardi as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers and sisters Keefer Stull, Nevin Stull, Harold Stull, Arthur Stull, Lerah Burrier and Rita Burrier. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4 at 10:00 AM at Faith United Church of Christ, 9333 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Church of Christ at the above listed address.
