Raymond Kenneth Shaver

Mr. Raymond Kenneth Shaver, 90, of Frederick, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Esther E. Shaver. Born January 5, 1925, in Kingston, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond K and Edna M. (Dersheimer) Shaver. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps (WWII) from 1943 - 1946. Also, Raymond was a past master of the Oxon Hill Masonic Lodge #231. Once he moved to Crestwood Village he was active within the community working at the front desk of the Community Clubhouse and the Library Committee. For the last few months Raymond was lovingly cared for at the College View Nursing Center. Raymond is survived by his daughter, Karen Bowling and husband Miles of Frederick, grandchildren, Matthew Bowling and wife Anastasia and Mollie Bowling, The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, on Friday, December 12, 2014, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701. Funeral services may be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, December 13, 2014, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Rev. Robert Manthey will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick Co., P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
