Mr. Carl Lester Fry, Sr., age 78 of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick. He was the husband of the late Rebecca Renn Fry. Born on February 17, 1936 in Frederick, he was the son of the late George Lester and Mary Catherine (Castle) Fry. Mr. Fry was an employee of Frederick Motor Company for 54 years where he drove a tow truck for 39 years. He also was the driver of a Redskin bus out of Frederick for each home game from 1963 - 1997, only missing two games. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, the Moose Lodge #371, Independent Hose Company, and Citizens Truck Company. He served as a past President of the Ford Four States Parts and Service Club. In his free time he enjoyed traveling with friends. Mr. Fry was the father of Carl L. Fry, Jr. and his wife Layne of Frederick and Sharon F. Spring of Brunswick, the grandfather of Natalie S. Anthony and husband Kenneth of Middletown, Bridgid A. Sandler and husband Steven of Frederick, Geoffrey O. Fry of Frederick and James D. Spring, II of Brunswick and the great grandfather of Abigail and Madalyn Anthony and Ethan Sandler. His is also survived by brothers George A. Fry and Francis R. Fry and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Fry is preceded in death by his sister Anna Margaret Turner and two brothers Robert C. Fry, Sr., and Walter N. Fry. Friends will be received on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main St., Middletown, MD 21769 where funeral services will begin at 11:30. Pastor Cris Frigm will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Renn, Kevin Gladhill, Robert Fry, Jr., James Fry, Joel Fry and Bill Etzler. The interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
