Shirley May Miller, age 80, of Adamstown passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Daniel C. Miller of 47 years. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gene D. Butler. Born on March 6, 1934 in Adamstown, she was the daughter of the late Millard E. Wilt and Lottie R. Wilt. Mrs. Miller worked for the Frederick County Board of Education as a secretary. She was a member of Doubs/Epworth United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great friend. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons, Ronald Butler and wife Deborah of Frederick; Keith Butler and wife Janis of Adamstown; daughter, Kimberly Butler of Adamstown; grandchildren, Sabrina Butler and fiancé Donnie Kolb of Adamstown; Gene Butler and fiancee Amy Klinger of Frederick; Randy Butler of Adamstown; Wade Butler and wife Tara of Frederick; great-grandchildren Kendra, Kari, Jean Marie and David Butler; sisters Ruby Eagle of Frederick and her fiancé David Hoffman of Hedgesville, WV and Patricia Grimes and friend Richard Blickenstaff of Middletown. Friends will be received on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where a funeral service will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 1 PM. Entombment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery mausoleum, Frederick.
