Mrs. Ruth Rebecca (Penner) Fleagle, 94, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014. She was born on February 23, 1920, in Hagerstown, daughter of the late Paul C. and Hazel Penner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold N. Fleagle and brother, William A. Penner. She is survived by brother, Nevin Calvin Penner and wife Carol of Hagerstown, sister, Margaret Jane Brewbaker of Rockville, and sister in law, Violet Penner, Williamsport. Also surviving are children, Paul Fleagle and wife Cindy of Frederick, Barry Fleagle of Dania Beach, Florida, Jill Parker and husband David of Romney, West Virginia, grandchildren, Zachary Fleagle, Jeb Fleagle, Meghan Griffin, Marie Fields, Emily Milleson, Susan Parker, and John Parker, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth Fleagle was a 1938 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Frederick. She lovingly served as a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Maryland Terrapins. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7pm, on Friday, January 2, 2015, at South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrollton Dr., Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the church. Rev. Burnis Barrett will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
