Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (King) Cline, 87, of Frederick MD, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Citizens Care & Rehabilitation Center and was a prior resident at Sumerford Assisted Living & Memory Care. She was the wife of the late Earl W. Cline, who preceded her in death in March of 2007 and preceded in death by her siblings; Patricia (King) Graham, Emma (King) Ridgely, and Ray (Sonny) King. Born January 18, 1927, in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of the late Ray and Mildred (Rippeon) King. She is survived by her children; David E. Cline and late wife Joyce and Jerry M. Cline and wife Judi, grandchildren; Amanda E. Lowery and husband John, Jennifer A. Cline and fiancé Billy Clay and Jonathan Cline, great-granddaughter; Madelynn E. Lowery, sister; Catherine Hausler, sister-in-law; Margaret Cline, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was a member of Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church for all of her life. As a youth she sang in the youth choir and participated in Christmas pageants. In her later years she joined the United Methodist Women Group. She loved children and was the supp. for 30 years of the cradle roll, was the altar guild: which included changing of the paraments and communion preparation. She also assisted with preparations for the church's many luncheons and bazaars. She was also involved with scouting for 25 years. In her spare time she crafted needlework pocket crosses and passed them out wherever she went as a reminder of God's love. What she loved most was spending time with her family and to her extended family she was always known as "Sis". She always loved being called "Nanny" by her grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7pm, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Pastor Helen Smith will officiate. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Centennial UMC, 8 West 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701.
