Elaine Ann Coccagna

Mrs. Elaine Ann Coccagna, 78, of Frederick, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at her home. She was the wife of the late Francis A, Coccagna, who died in 2000. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on July 30, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Emidio and Edith Dienna D'Orazio. Elaine had worked for many years as the administrative assistant for the Religious Education Program at St. John's Church. She was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and served the church in many capacities. She enjoyed watching baseball and football, especially the Eagles, and looked forward to trips to Ocean City, NJ. Surviving are her children, Michael F. Coccagna and wife Christina, of Monrovia, Roberta E. Coccagna and Matthew J. Coccagna, both of Frederick, two grandchildren, Nicholas and Grace Coccagna, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald D'Orazio. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, January 16, 2015, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at St. John's Catholic Church, 118 East Second Street. The Rev. Kevin Farmer, will be the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. John's Catholic Church, 116 East Second Street, Frederick, MD 21701.
