Larry Walden Mckenzie

July 21, 1946 — January 13, 2015

Larry Walden McKenzie, 68, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on January 13, 2015 at his home. Born on July 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Albert J. McKenzie and Mary R. (Whipp) Hood. He worked for 15 years for Mount Olivet Cemetery and more than 20 years at Frederick Iron & Steel. Larry was a member of the Redman's Club Tribe #19 in Frederick. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, cornhole and shuffleboard. Larry is survived by his two sons, Jamie Lee McKenzie and wife Connie and Jason Alan McKenzie and wife Crystal; his girlfriend of 22 years, Kathryn Nadene McKenzie; one brother, Ronnie J. McKenzie Sr.; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and seven nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sammy W. Hood Jr. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, Maryland 21701.
