Mr. David E. Wardrop, Sr., 83, died peacefully Jan 20, at the Kline Hospice House. Faithful husband of almost 62 years, he leaves behind his wife, Dixie Wardrop, of Frederick. Also surviving are two sons David E. Wardrop, Jr., and his wife Lisa, of Cornelius, NC, Dana Wardrop and his wife Geri, of Huntersville, NC, daughter Deanne W. and her husband, Joseph Eppich of Ijamsville, MD, five grandchildren, and one brother, Gerald Wardrop of Jupiter, FL. Born September 22, 1931, in Portage, PA, Dave attended Zion Bible College in Providence, RI, graduating in 1952. It was at Zion where he met his beautiful wife, Dixie; they were married in 1953. Dave was a real estate broker, manager, and instructor for 15 years, followed by 16 years with GSA as a contracts and procurement specialist. He was an active member in his church, Calvary Assembly, serving as a board member and adult class teacher. He was also active with Gideons International, serving at various times as chaplain, vice-president, and president. Dave loved and enjoyed his family most of all, especially his beloved wife and grandchildren. Other hobbies included watching sports, listening to gospel music, reading, and traveling during his active years. The family will receive friends during the only viewing times from 4 to 7 pm Friday, Jan 23, at Calvary Assembly of God, 8234 Woodsboro Pike, Walkersville, MD 21793. A Celebration of Life service will be held Jan 24, at 11 am, also at Calvary. A private burial will be held at RestHaven Memorial Gardens.
