Neil Bailey Moreland, age 76, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday January 24th, at his home in Frederick, Maryland. Born in Selma, Alabama, he was the son of the late Pascal Harris Moreland, Sr., and Ruby Nichols Moreland. He was preceded in death by his brother, Pascal Harris Moreland, Jr. He was a loving husband to his wife, Kathleen Moreland. He is survived by his four children, John Moreland, Jennifer Moreland, Leanne Lindsey and Catherine Brock, as well as two stepchildren, Laura and Will Rowley He loved and enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren, Kade, Daniel, Reese, William and Dominick. Following his graduation from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Washington, DC, Neil served in the Army Reserves Medical Service Corps, and was stationed at Fort Sam Houston. He later attended American University where he majored in Industrial Art. At the time of his death, he was Director of Client Services for Purofirst of Metropolitan Washington. In the 1980s, he was Sales Manager for Larry Hogan Commercial Real Estate, and was so proud when his friend was recently elected Governor of the great State of Maryland. Neil was a longtime member of the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Community Association Institute (WMCCAI), where he co-founded the annual Ronald McDonald Landscape Day Event. He was a four-time winner of the Association's Volunteer of the Year Award, and a proud recipient of the WCCAI Hall of Fame Award. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, February 5th at Damascus Roads Community Church, 12826 Old National Pike, Mount Airy, Maryland 21771. The family will receive friends beginning at noon until the service begins at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service at Ceresville Mansion, 8529 Liberty Road, Frederick, MD.
