Mrs. Ethel Elizabeth Klipp, 85, of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital, after a year of declining health. She was the wife of 53 years to the late Glenn M. Klipp. Born in Frederick, on March 21, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Frances Routzahn O'Neal. In her early years, she was a well known waitress in Frederick, and she had worked at Bare's Restaurant, Millie's, Lohr's and the Democratic Club. She was a member of the Redmen's Club, the Red Hat Society and attended the Senior Citizen's on Taney Ave., every Tuesday, where she had many friends. She was also lovingly known as the Mayor of 5th Street, in Frederick, by her neighbors. Surviving are her children, Glenn E ."Butch" Klipp, of Charles Town, West Virginia, Patricia May and husband Richard, of Jacksonville, Ark., Linda Maddox and husband Darrell, of Jacksonville, FL, Wayne "Buster" Klipp and wife Pattie, of Frederick, Connie Haines and husband Ernie, of Middletown, and Jerry Klipp, of Frederick, 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Hiedi Baker and Francis Sullivan IV, one sister, Pauline Minnick and one brother, Glenn O'Neal. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the funeral home. The Rev. Tim May, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tony Haines, Jason Haines, Dwayne Ayres, Jerry Klipp, Jr., Oscar Klipp and Sammy Klipp. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Patty Pollatos Fund, in C/O, Debbie Williams, 11102 Eagletrace Court, New Market, MD 21774.
